About Ottawa
As Canada’s capital, Ottawa is the perfect place to experience some of the country’s best attractions, celebrations and flavours in one welcoming city. With its unique blend of urban and rural beauty, year-round outdoor activities, and vibrant neighbourhoods, the Ottawa region is best explored over three days or more.
Visit the Ottawa Tourism website to learn more about the city and about things to see and do.
Transportation
While we hope the new public transportation rail line serving the Ottawa International Airport will be running by the summer 2023, it is not yet completed.
At this point, the best ground transportation option from the airport to the University of Ottawa or to downtown hotels is a taxi (about CAD 35-40). For more information visit: https://yow.ca/en/parking-transportation/ground-transportation-options
Public transportation is certainly a cheaper, but longer, option:
- Take the # 97 from the Airport (between the pillars 13 to 16) to Hurdman Station
- Get off at Hurdman Station and get on the O-Train line 1 going west (towards Tunneys’ Pasture).
-
- Get off at uOttawa Station (to go to the University of Ottawa ISSA Congress location or to campus residences)
OR - Get off at the Rideau Station for a short walk to the Novotel or to the Lord Elgin.
- Get off at uOttawa Station (to go to the University of Ottawa ISSA Congress location or to campus residences)
